Notice to participants regarding travel on winter roads in Sapporo

2. We recommend wearing shoes with sufficient grip to prevent falls.
   
   
3. Shoes with flat soles and heels are extremely dangerous. If you wear such shoes, we strongly recommend purchasing “anti-slip stickers” or “removable anti-slip spikes”, such as rubber ones (available at convenience stores in Sapporo, key words for web search:anti-slip sticker or slip stopper for shoe).
   
   
4. When walking on snow-covered roads, try to take two-thirds of your usual stride.
   
   
5. When walking on frozen surfaces, try to stride at one-third of your normal length.
